Some Information and Details About UPVC Butterfly Valve

UPVC butterfly valve is commonly used because of UPVC’s sustainability, resistance for erosion, flexibility, and low maintenance. What’s more, the variety of fittings and UPVC butterfly Valve also makes it incredibly versatile and interact with many types of piping systems well, so does the pneumatic actuators.

History of UPVC

UPVC originated in the late 19th century when scientists exposed the gas, vinyl chloride, to sunlight. But until the 1920s the discovery wasn’t put into application. It wasn't until World War II that UPVC's properties were fully taken advantage of. Moreover, UPVC was used throughout military ships and as a replacement for rubber insulation in wiring. In modern times UPVC is made as a powder and melted down to form pipes and other products.

Types of UPVC Butterfly Valves

The types of UPVC butterfly valve can be divided into 11 categories, they are Ball, 3 Way, Check, Butterfly, Float, Foot, Gate, Globe, Solenoid, Spigots, and Y-pattern. What’s more, the most common UPVC Butterfly valve is a two-way Grunion Ball Valve and a Horizontal 3-Way Ball Valve . Like fittings, various sizes, and thicknesses can come up in each PVC butterfly.

Function

UPVC butterfly valve has two basic functions, to connect intersecting pipes and to change the directionality or angle at which the pipes are situated. For example, a 3 Way valve connects three separate pipes. What’s more, an elbow or angle bend fitting changes the direction in which a pipe was going, while UPVC Butterfly Valve have the same functions as fittings with the added function of regulating the flow in the pipes. All in all, valves can turn off, slow down, or speed up whatever is flowing through the pipes.

Connecting Valves and Fittings

To connect UPVC butterfly valve to pipes two substances are needed, Purple Primer and PVC cement. Moreover, the purple primer can be used in the inside of the fitting or valve first to make sure glue adhesion. After letting the primer set for a minute, PVC cement is applied over the primer in the same way. Moreover, the fitting or valve is then worked onto the pipe a quarter turn at a time until completely secured. What’s more, any excess glue should be wiped from the joint and the connected pieces should be held together for a few minutes until the glue has hardened.
