How to Select Right Butterfly Valves for Pneumatic Actuators

The valve body of pneumatic actuators is a disc-shaped safety butterfly valve plate which is made around the axis of rotation of 0-90° in the cylindrical path. The valve is fully closed when the disc is at 0° and is fully open when the disc rotated to 90°. Butterfly has a better flow control characteristics: when butterfly is in the fully open position, the butterfly valve plate thickness is only the resistance when the medium flowing through the valve, and the pressure drop generated is small. The ubiquitous variables like product type and name, nominal diameter DN (mm), nominal pressure of pneumatic actuators, flow characteristics, pneumatic actuators’ body material and sealing requirements, rated flow coefficient, media type and temperature range, valve after pressure (pressure), air pressure and control signals and other special requirements. On the other hand, choosing the appropriate deployment and maintenance method is another important aspect for valve selection for pneumatic actuators. The functional mechanism of pneumatic actuators is different to other actuators so the selection procedure not only depends on the common knowledge on pneumatic actuators but also on the real practice with it.
